The Joint Parish Councils' (Heapey, Wheelton) with support from Guides, Brownies,Scouts and British Legion, Remembrance Day Service will take place at the War Memorial/Clock Tower in Wheelton on Sunday 11 November starting at 12.30 pm to mark the Centenary of the Armistice. This will be a very special service this year and will include appropriate readings. After the service there will be free light refereshments available at the Village Hall. All welcome. There will be a retiring collection on behalf of "Heapey and Wheelton War Memorial Trust".
A planning application has been recieved by Chorley Borough Council which could impact on Wheelton Village. the application is for Outline planning application for employment floorspace (Use Classes B2 and B8) with associated highways, landscaping provision and any ancillary development thereto. Wheelton Parish Council wishes to appoint a suitably qualified contractor to undertake the maintenance of the garden areas covered by the Parish from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2021 The Council hereby invites applications for the Council's Specification for the Garden Maintenance. "Now well into its 40th year the Annual Carols around the Tree jointly organised by Wheelton Parish Council, Heapey and Wheelton Village Hall Committee and Heapey Parish Council takes place at the War Memorial/Clock Tower, Wheelton on Christmas Eve, Sunday 24th December at 5.30pm. This magical community event has local musicians, businesses and young people involved. Last year over 350 people attended. Christmas cake, mincepies, mulled wine, sherry and soft drinks will be available to all courtesy of local businesses and the Councils. All are welcome, so come along and enjoy the magic of Christmas, for after all "It's the night before Christmas!"
